After spending a night at the hotel, we are all refreshed and our first destination is Cheng Huang Miao! It boasts the best xiaolongbao in China.

Liu Da Ge was explaning what do we have to take note at the ChengHuang Miao things like taking care of our belongings because it is very crowded there.
He also said that people who drink coffee will have a lower chance of getting senile by 22%. Hence drinking coffee is actually very good! So, DRINK COFFEE!

We finally reach ChengHuang Miao!! Yeah!

The main entrance

Shops on the 2nd storey

SEE! STARBUCKS!! (It's rare)

To find Startbucks in China is a little difficult as coffee to them is expensive. Also, the Chinese manufacture tea, which adds to its rarity. Thus, when hotels and restaurant serve coffee , they normally make a lot of coffee out of a handful of coffee beans to save money and thus most of the coffee they served are very diluted. It is not a good choice to have coffee in China.

The place have the very olden look ><

The XiaolongBao was really tasty and the soup in the bun just gushes out when there you bite it! And not to mention, the soup was sweet and quenches your thirst!

One of the restaurants, this is the genuine one.

The name of the restaurant and you can see the chef making xiao long bao. To eat the original xiaolongbao, you must go to this restaurant, NanXiang Steamed Bun Restaurant (南翔).

There were different prices assigned to different qualities of the xiaolongbao. According to the guide, if you buy the xiaolongbao at the first floor, it's not as good as Singapore's Din Tai Fung. If you go further up, the quality gets better, and the price also gets higher.

Our xiao long bao!!

JIAJIA and her Xiaolongbao. this is before she takes her first bite.

The filling inside xiaolongbao

And not to forget, the skin that contains the xiaolongbao and the soup.

XIAOLONGBAO!!

(Oh yes, the dessert that was finished in the background was Mango Pudding.)

All our xiaolongbao before we ate.

After we had our xiao long bao, there were not much time for us to shop thus we only managed to buy some accessories there and we went to assemble. We go for our lunch after everyone was here.It was a short walk to the place where we are going to have our lunch. But for most of the people who went to eat the xiaolongbao was already very full so most of the food for the lunch was not finished.

During lunch...

Our lunch..

This thing Jacinta is holding is VERY NICE!!! Beside it is the key chain she bought.

This is the food that is very nice!!!

After lunch the tour guide gave us somemore time to shop as the time given in the morning is not enough. After we meet again, we headed to the Oriental Pearl Tower

In the past, the Chinese and dog are not allowed in the place. It implies that last time the Chinese people's social position are as low as a dog's.

Liu Da Ge was explaning the history of this place.

Oriental Pearl Tower is the third tallest tower in the world and also the tallest tower in Asia. Oriental Pearl Tower 468 metres high.
It is a TV Tower in Shanghai and is located in the Pudong district, by the side of Huangpu River and is also opposite The Bund.

The Bund is located at the banks of the Huangpu River between Waibaidu Bridge and Nanpu Bridge, the New Bund has a total length of 4 kilometers.

From what we know from the guide, Oriental Pearl Tower is very beautiful at night. But we went there during day time and didn't manage to get to see the beautiful scenery of the river. At night when the floodlights of the buildings are switched on at the same time, the buildings look exactly like crystal palaces.

Tourists and Chinese at the Pudong River. Occasionally, a boat with digital advertisements would pass by.

Buildings along the Pudong River.

With our five-star tour guide Liu Da Ge!

Our group photo!

Of course we must have a whole group photo at such a place!

This is a war memorial (Which looks like the civilian war memorial at Beach Road.) It is to remember those who died in the war fighting for Shanghai's freedom.

And off we go to next destination!!

We went to a bookstore in Shanghai after visiting ChenghuangMiao.
The book shop there was really huge as it is 7 storeys high.
The book shop does not only sell books for us to read, it also sells CD and DVD for us to watch it at home.
We also realised that after you have bought something from the store, you cannot enter the shop again because you have bought something, which really baffles us and it is prohibited to take pictures in the stall but we managed to take a few pictures.

Bookstore!

The main entrance and there were alot of people

Lots of people were standing along the bookshelf and reading.

There were lots of variety of books

We also went to this cafe named momochacha which it opposite of the book store which sells Singapore local food!
We were quite surprised that there is actually a Singapore-themed cafe which sells Singapore local food in Shanghai , hence we decided to go and have a try as we all needed a rest badly because we were quite tired after the shopping walk at ChengHuangMiao and at the Bund.
We drank smoothie there was cold there and it was really tasty! We had a look at its menu and found out that most of the food in the menu were food that are found commonly in Singapore. But we did not try food as we were still very full. After finishing our food and resting, we went back to the bookstore and browse through the books that were sold there.

The cafe

when we were waiting for the smoothie to be served, Eline took out a toy pig she bought at Chenghuangmiao to play.

The piggie!

That's when Eline threw the piggie on the table.

Poor piggie

This is how piggie look after a few hours.

It's sad that piggie died in the end. It was thrown on the floor and all the water burst out T.T

Our smoothies.

LAYLIN with JIAJIA with their smoothie.

ELINE with WAIMEI

WAIMEI&&JIAJIA

After 3 hrs in the bookstore , we assemble at the entrance of the bookstore and we had a walk to the place where we had the dinner as yesterday and through this walk it makes us found out that actually the bookstore was quite near to Nanjing Road and we had to walk through Nanjing road and continue walking like how we walked yesterday to the same reataurant..

We were all hungry after so many hours of walk and most of the food were all finished off by us!

Snap shots! Bottoms up and Hongyi was having fun with the fish eye! Yucks!

After dinner, we got on the bus and went back to our hotel. It had been a tiring day and after our reflections, everyone went to rest.
